Welcome First-Year Students!

Coming to college is an important step in your personal journey, and we at the Howard University Library System (HULS) are committed to making your transition to life and study at Howard a positive experience.

Our goal is to equip you with the tools and resources you will need to be successful--here and beyond. 

In this guide, you will find helpful information about your libraries, their resources, and the many support services available for your use. You'll also find tips and pointers to assist you in your future research assignments and information on who to contact if you need a helping hand along the way.

Founders Library offers a number of workshops, programs, and events especially designed to help first-year HU students navigate the libraries and college-level library research.
